Just to clarify, "moving air" is NOT literally how sound is made. If that is so, then i would expect vented boxes to produce no sound at tuning. Check your facts man. Often times less displacement/excursion can be a good thing. Less excursion = hopeful linearity

The Wardens are definitely strong subs. B2 is a newish player in the US game and the XC series are pretty crazy as well. LVL6s are hard to beat too.. Also the SMD. Lots of good woofers.
