it makes freq's lower and also has somehwat of a spl mic. some music they are great for some they are worthless.

my pdx5 would run for 5 hours at high volumes and not thermal, it would get warm but never has shut off.

I just installed a set of the xxx comps and really like them, the midrange is the most suprising aspect of the set. very good sounding to me. I came from a set of pioneer prs 6.75's and would take the xxx's over them easily. about the same amount of midbass but everything else just sounds better.

It is a nice deck for the money, actually has 3 sets of pre outs and a 7 band graphic. have a friend that has one and really likes it.

the rsd 12 will want more space than that, you could consider the rsdc 12 and would work very well. also I would consider the rsd amps too, can be had for cheap on fleabay

I have had a memphis 3004 bridged to a set for almost a year, with no issues. should be 230 rms per. and my drive to work is 5 hours. 225 wouldnt scare me with them.

only problem I see is, if you dont get good airflow for the amp it may get hot and go into thermal protection fairly quickly.
