It's been like below zero for a few days where I live and was wondering how cold weather can affect my gear. I'm almost positive it has some effect, i don't know how significant but want to know what and why. Thx
are you sure you're not overpoering them? The same thing happened to me. It's hard to believe you're underpowering them if it only happens when the gain is all the way up. Check and make sure your running enough power.
no way man, 300 at the max! Learn to do it yourself, you'll probly find it fun like I did, and want to do it more and more. Plus you have the bragging rights, plus you'll be able to sound smart when talking to your friends. Make the right choice.
just make sure your not running the subs over their peak. I feel safe going a little over the RMS. There's always the gain adjuster on the amp so there's nothing to worry about.
Both are well respected and make good stuff. If your really not sure, then just go with the one that looks the best. That might sound flaky but when your choices are a win win situation, that's the only deciding factor left.
Yes, generally parallel allows the lowest amount of resistance (ohms) plus it's very easy to wire. If you want wiring diagrams go to JL and they have a whole pg. for wiring and other configuration options.
I see so many threads of people wanting to know how much Resonant Engineering's stuff costs, so I though I would post how much these subs cost.
15" HC-$279
15" XXX$399
I called the company to get the prices, i guess it's that easy but so many peeps just want the list. Thats all i asked for...
Yah, I just discovered what wire harnesses were. Before I ended up clipping my Audi's car harness plugs off...leaving me with about twenty Eurpopean color coded wires that I had no idea where they went to. Sucky.
Ok here's the deal. I wired in the 12v wire and acc wire to my car and had it all hooked up to my deck. Well the last thing i connected was my ground. When I found a good piece of metal I touched the ground to it, it sparked violently and then my head unit started smoking! What the hell did...
I have 2 amps and want to power one DVC sub. The only problem I saw was that if I bridged them both to mono would it matter if one voice coil got more or less power than the other? THe reason I say this is becuz one amp is about 500 rms, the other 300 rms. Anybody?
I installed a deck today and noticed when two wire that weren't supposed to be connected touched, the whole thing just stopped playing sound. I have a feeling this is what your problem is. Double check the wires and make sure they are what you think they are. If a color looks close then...
I just got a new 200watt amp that I was planning on using for my 2 6X9s but the only problem is that it's 4 channel and It says it bold letters "NEVER BRIDGE OUTPUTS FOR USE WITH TWO SPEAKERS" So whats the dealio, is it just not recomended or are they for real??
