I installed 2 polk dxi 12" in my buddies rzr800. They really didn't sound all that great with the box firing up and away from the cabin, wasnt impressed with the box firing at the cabin either. The box is very similar to the pic you posted above. We are building a down firing box at the moment...

thanks, I did account for the displacement of the port itself. I believe the calculator i used accounts for this as well.

Just wanting to double check my numbers. Just build a box for 2 sa12's, 4.11CuF after displacement, will be seeing about 1800 watts rms. this will be a daily system that i may enter in some comps. thinking tune to 33hz via aero port. I'm thinking a 6" flared port, precision port calc says it...

i was going to suggest something like the sundown e-series but according to alpins site the new S series has 15mm xmax (excursion) vs the sundown of 12mm xmax and the wattage RMS on the alpine is 500 vs 400. seems like alpine is stepping up their game some, might just go with the new line up of...

Thanks, not exactly sure on the box dimensions. the only time i saw it was when it was still in the sanding and bondo stage. i'd say best guess is some where around .60-.70 cuF per chamber. I was thinking some of the Polk subs would work since they say they are marine grade and not too pricy...

I've been working on an audio system for my buddie's new polaris rzr 900. not sure if yall know about them but these side by side atvs are the shizniz!!! anyway, we got a headunit and 4 6.5" speakers installed and it sounds pretty dang good. now we are moving on to the subwoofer and amp stage...

precision port has a calculator on their website, just enter box dimensions and play with port diameter and length till you get what you need. hope that helps. btw- the 3" diameter port kit cost about $16 or so shipped. more $ for a larger diameter.

x2 on using bigger wire. no way that small wire will carry enough current to run the amp at its full potential.

big 3 would be a good place to start. see where that takes you then look into a h/o alt and/or extra batts if needed..
